Welcome to the Elkhart County 4-H Dairy Feeder Calf Club Website! We are proud to be the largest Dairy Feeder Calf Club in the state of Indiana!
Geranium pick up! Make sure to come to the fairgrounds on April 23rd from 3:00 pm - 7:00 p.m. If you cannot be there, make arrangements for someone else to pick them up. The leaders and advisory board will not be responsible for keeping them for you.
Premise ID. We haven't brought this up in a couple years, however, the leaders and advisory board want to make sure you are advised that you should be applying with the Indiana Board of Animal Health for a Premise ID, if you haven't already. Below is some information and a link to their website. The club will be providing RFID tags at the May weigh in.
Traceability & Premise ID Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) is proposing rule changes to align with USDA's Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) program. The following information outlines what forms of identification will be recognized as official, as well as what documentation will be required for each species moving into, out of and within Indiana. The information in this document is a proposal that, if adopted by the Board, will take effect in 2015 to ensure Indiana complies with federal standards.
Premise ID BOAH requires premises registration of all sites associated with the sale, purchase and/or exhibition of the following species: cattle, swine, sheep, goats and cervids. Equine and poultry sites may be registered on a voluntary basis.
More information about the premises ID program, including registration forms is available here.
For additional questions about Indiana's premise ID program contact BOAH at email@example.com or (317) 544-2381.
